Poor Handling? Book a Suspension Inspection

Worn suspension doesn't just make the ride uncomfortable — it lengthens stopping distances, wears tyres unevenly and makes the car harder to control. We check the whole system on the hoist and only recommend the work you actually need.

Signs Your Suspension Needs Attention

Car bounces after bumps or dips
Clunks or knocks over speed bumps
Uneven tyre wear (cupping or scalloping)
Nose dives hard under braking
Car sits low on one corner
Visible oil leak from a shock absorber

Not sure? A Suspension Inspection is quick, on the hoist, and gives you honest feedback on what's needed.

Suspension FAQs

Why do shock absorbers need to be replaced in pairs?

A new shock absorber damps very differently to a worn one. Fitting one new shock next to a worn one causes uneven handling and pulls under braking. Replacing them in pairs (both front or both rear) keeps the car balanced and predictable.

How long do shocks last?

It depends on the vehicle and how it's driven, but most shocks show wear between 80,000 and 150,000 km. Rough roads, heavy loads and towing shorten that. If yours are bouncing, leaking, or the car dives under braking, it's time to check.

Do I need a wheel alignment after suspension work?

Yes — any suspension work that touches the steering or lower control arm geometry should be followed by a wheel alignment. See our Tyres & Wheels page to book alignment together with the suspension work.

"Very thorough and fair, Howard has picked things up that would have cost a lot more later if missed! Great service and he explains everything. We moved interstate and the new mechanic commented on how well the car had been looked after. 10/10"
